Meta Beta

Interesting, but awkward: T-Online has launched a Beta Portal leading its visitors to websites of Web 2.0 start-ups. That must make it the first meta beta portal in the world.
The ambition level is rather moderate. According to a statement in the Xing Web 2.0 Group:
"The aim of the Beta-Portal is [...] to present interesting Web 2.0 startups. What we are looking for in perticular are young startups, that already have a service running (preferably in "beta-mode") and are looking for
an opportunity to get some attention for their services. Currently we have some great services for mobiles on the portal, but we plan to expand the portfolio by two more services each month, including online-software-, information-handling- and other online-only services with a social networking approach."
