Katrina-izing a windy day in Europe

5 years ago we would've pointed outside, and would have made a smalltalk-remark about the nasty wind.
Now the storm, no the hurricane, was hyped as a crisis for three days before it hit us. Our weather forecasts have been americanized big time over the past few years.
I just saw that this time the storm even got a name: Kyrill or Cyrill (the experts are still quarreling about the spelling), that made it to the Top 10 of Technorati.
Here in Holland more than a thousand people have sent in their photos to the website of NOS Journaal, our national news show. The volume of user generated video reporting I've found after a quick scan on the European part of Web 2.0 is remarkably small. Nothing in Holland. 3 little films on Sevenload.
