Endoxon bought by Google

I wonder if Google bought Swiss carthography specialist Endoxon specifically for their skills in mobile mapping, or for the amazing graphical quality of its maps. My guess is for the latter.
Google has made it hard to assess what's going on in Luzern. When you try to go directly to the Endoxon website, all you find is an ugly press statement, signed by both parties.
When you search Google for Endoxon.com, all you get is a number of links that are re-routed to that same ugly press release.
Even all the links in the cached pages are leading you to that same story.

But clicking for "Similar pages" still brings you to some amazing examples of Endoxon's work. Cf. this one for Map.Search.ch...

...or this amazing (detail of a map) of Berlin on Goyellow - tick & untick the boxes, use your scroller!

map.search.ch is not the work of Endoxon. They provided the mapping images, so we could develop our website...
