Amazon, Alexa & Bezos suck!

Another petition I fully endorse: read this article by Pete Cashmore (I never liked Alexa, anyway):

"This lawsuit, however, takes Amazon from “bullying behavior” to “complete reputation implosion”. Because it was filed on March 26th in a Federal District court, Amazon knew at the Web 2.0 Expo that it was promoting the openness of its web services while trying to shut out others from using its data. What’s more, the filing was made after the site conceded and changed its name - trademark infringement doesn’t apply. So if you were planning to use any of Amazon’s web services, may we suggest you consider some alternatives? And if you’re using the Alexa toolbar, please uninstall it. After all, isn’t Amazon stealing your proprietary surfing data?"

Pandora founder Tim Westergren writes:

"The survival of Pandora and all of Internet radio is in jeopardy because of a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC to almost triple the licensing fees for Internet radio sites like Pandora. The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays, and broadcast radio doesn't pay these at all. Left unchanged, these new royalties will kill every Internet radio site, including Pandora.
